What you will do
<ul>
<li>SolarWinds is looking for a Software Engineer to join the Platform Insights team, the team responsible for the tools and platforms that help SolarWinds engineers build better, faster, and with more confidence. You will help us build, integrate, and evolve these platforms as SolarWinds moves toward an agent-oriented engineering model.</li>
<li>Build and maintain internal platform services that give engineering teams visibility into their services, ownership, costs, and health — across the full software development lifecycle</li>
<li>Develop and extend REST APIs and integrations that connect our engineering ecosystem: source control, identity, CI/CD, and cost data</li>
<li>Design and ship automation that reduces manual toil for engineers — from self-service workflows and ChatOps interactions to scheduled agents that surface actionable insights</li>
<li>Contribute to the FinOps tooling that tracks and reports cloud cost attribution across hundreds of services and teams</li>
<li>Help evolve our approach to service catalog data quality — ownership, dependencies, and team relationships — and make that data reliable enough to power policy and automation</li>
<li>Work closely with engineering teams across the organization as internal customers, translating their friction points into durable platform capabilities</li>
<li>Take rotating sprint hero duty — monitoring platform health, triaging incoming requests, and keeping the team unblocked</li>
<li>Collaborate on infrastructure-as-code changes that provision and configure the systems your team owns</li>
</ul>
Required Qualifications
<ul>
<li>4+ years of experience in software engineering, platform engineering, developer tooling, or a related field.</li>
<li>Proficiency in Python — the team's primary language across all services</li>
<li>Experience building and maintaining REST APIs (FastAPI or similar framework)</li>
<li>Working knowledge of containerization and Kubernetes — all team services run in k8s</li>
<li>Experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling (Terraform)</li>
<li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and workflows (we run CircleCI)</li>
<li>Comfort integrating with third-party APIs and webhooks (GitHub, Slack, AWS, etc.)</li>
<li>Strong written communication — we rely on async collaboration across distributed teams</li>
</ul>
Nice to have
<ul>
<li>Experience with Go</li>
<li>Familiarity with gRPC and protobuf</li>
<li>Experience with GraphQL APIs (client-side — querying GitHub GraphQL, Jira, etc.)</li>
<li>Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost visibility, or financial data tooling</li>
<li>Familiarity with Internal Developer Portals, service catalogs, or CMDB-style data products</li>
<li>Exposure to Entra ID / Azure AD, SCIM provisioning, or SSO integrations (GitHub Teams, SAML)</li>
<li>Prior experience contributing to platform, developer experience, or internal tooling teams</li>
<li>What we are looking for</li>
<li>Genuine interest in developer experience — you find it meaningful to make other engineers' lives easier</li>
<li>Ownership mindset and strong discipline: you notice gaps, raise them, and drive them to resolution</li>
<li>Willingness to learn, improve systems, and drive reliability-focused changes</li>
<li>Practical approach to solving infrastructure and operational problems</li>
<li>Team player who values clear communication and documentation, with a habit of sharing context and decisions</li>
<li>Continuous learner who stays current with new technologies and modern engineering practices</li>

<li>Define and report on domain KPIs, speed-to-lead, MQL-to-SAL-to-SQL conversion, routing SLA compliance, deal registration cycle time, partner-sourced pipeline, forecast accuracy, and CRM data quality</li>
<li>Provide strategic guidance on process design and technology footprint, including evaluation of Salesforce native capability versus AppExchange or adjacent GTM tooling</li>
<li>Contribute to CRM platform architecture and governance decisions alongside the Director and peer product managers</li>

What Makes This Role Unique
Most Salesforce product roles own a slice of the funnel. This one owns the whole front end of the revenue engine, from the first inbound touch, through partner-registered deals, to a qualified opportunity sitting in an accurate forecast. You will have genuine roadmap ownership across two connected domains, direct access to the marketing, sales, and channel leaders whose numbers depend on your design decisions, and the mandate to fix top-of-funnel problems at the root rather than patch them. For a product manager with real Lead-to-Opportunity and PRM depth, this is a rare combination of scope, autonomy, and visible impact.

About the Role
SolarWinds is looking for a Principal Product Manager to own the end-to-end eCommerce experience. This includes the digital engine that converts prospects into customers and customers into advocates. This is a senior individual contributor role with high visibility across Product, Engineering, Finance, and Go-to-Market, and it carries real potential to grow into a people leadership position as the eCommerce function scales.
You will define the vision and roadmap for how SolarWinds sells online which spans self-serve purchasing, pricing and packaging presentation, checkout and payment flows, trial-to-paid conversion, and subscription management. You’ll set strategy, influence the roadmap across adjacent product areas, and raise the bar for how SolarWinds thinks about digital revenue.
This is the kind of role where your work is directly traceable to revenue. If you want ownership, strategic scope, and room to grow - this is it.
What You’ll Own
eCommerce Strategy &amp; Vision
• Define and own the multi-year product vision and roadmap for SolarWinds’ eCommerce capabilities, aligned to company revenue and growth objectives.
• Set the strategic framework for how SolarWinds sells online - spanning SMB self-serve, mid-market, and enterprise digital motions.
• Influence pricing, packaging, and go-to-market strategy in partnership with Product, Finance, and GTM leadership.
• Represent eCommerce at the executive level, translating complex product decisions into clear business impact narratives.
&nbsp;
Self-Serve &amp; Product-Led Growth
• Own the self-serve buying journey from trial activation through paid conversion and upsell, building frictionless experiences that drive revenue without requiring a sales touch.
• Define and optimize in-product upgrade and expansion paths that accelerate product-led growth.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to build the in-app purchasing and entitlement infrastructure that powers self-serve revenue.
• Measure and improve key PLG metrics: trial conversion rate, time-to-value, activation rate, and self-serve ARR.
Checkout, Pricing &amp; Packaging Experience
• Own the end-to-end checkout experience: product catalogue, pricing pages, cart, payment, order confirmation, and post-purchase flows.
• Drive pricing and packaging display strategy - ensuring the right offer is surfaced to the right buyer at the right moment.
• Partner with Finance and Legal on payment method expansion, tax and compliance requirements, and currency localization.
• Lead major platform investments such as commerce engine selection, payment infrastructure, and subscription management tooling.
&nbsp;
Conversion Optimization &amp; Analytics
• Build and maintain a data-driven operating model for eCommerce performance, with clear KPIs and a test-and-learn culture.
• Own funnel analytics: traffic-to-trial, trial-to-paid, cart abandonment, average order value, and lifetime value.
• Drive a structured A/B testing program across pricing pages, checkout flows, and upgrade prompts.
• Establish reporting and dashboards that give leadership clear visibility into digital revenue health.
